Teresa Weis, LPC, LMFT
Teresa is a family systems trained therapist, specializing in supporting individuals, couples and families. Her practice is focused on supporting those living with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, as well as those challenged by eating disorders, grief & loss, anxiety and depression, sexuality, gender and relationship issues. Having lived with Type 1 diabetes for over 25 years, Teresa has a unique perspective to add to her therapeutic training. She also has extensive experience supporting all kinds of parents around many different issues including adoption, ADHD, eating disorders and general parenting concerns. She has worked with adolescents and their families for over 12 years including in the public school system.
Teresa recently began offering diabetic support groups at Be Nourished and will be expanding this part of her practice throughout 2010.
Teresa’s Approach
Relationship to self is the foundation for all other relationships. I am excited to work with individuals, and specialize in working with couples. I provide a relaxed environment, often incorporating humor, in which we can work collaboratively to identify and build upon your strengths, deepen your insights and increase motivation to move forward on your path. My direct approach, combined with deep compassion, respectfully supports your healing process, bringing you more fully into the present and more fully into yourself. My therapeutic perspective is profoundly impacted by my work and study in the field of ecopsychology as well as several other schools of thought (for more information regarding my theoretical orientation please see my website). I combine these passions in my work as a a permaculture healing landscape designer. I specialize in helping others develop healing environments around themselves; blending the indoor and outdoor realms. I am excited to be designing the outdoor spaces at Be Nourished.
