Skills in Conscious Eating (4 weeks)

 

This 4-week group will provide practical information and hands-on activities to encourage a healthy and holistic approach to eating.  Dana Sturtevant, MS, RD and Hilary Kinavey, MS, NCC will help participants discover the mental and emotional roots of a disconnected relationship with food and body, and will explore the use of consciousness techniques to have a more satisfying relationship with food and self.  Cost: $35/week.

Making Peace with Your Body

Dana and Hilary co-facilitate this 10-week program for women.  Topics explored include conscious eating, gentle nutrition, hunger awareness, body image and joyful movement. The intent of the program is to help participants let go of food/weight obsession and develop an attuned relationship to food and self. The group will offer the support needed to safely explore the often confusing relationship between food, body and self and provide practical tools for improving emotional and physical health and wellness.   Stay for an hour of yoga with Dana from 11:15 - 12:15 (priced separately).  Cost: $35.00 per session - 10% discount available when balance is paid in full.

Body Image Workshops for Women

This two part workshop will allow you to safely explore the often complex interplay between our relationship with our bodies, their shape and image, and how that impacts our ability to care for ourselves.  Discuss how body image is a catalyst for a troubled relationship with food, and emerge from this workshop with insights, understanding and a renewed appreciation for the intricate connections between food, body and self. Attendance at both dates is recommended for a complete experience.  We are offering separate workshops for teens and adults.

Adults (18 and up), June 7 & 21, 1 to 5pm

Teens (ages 14-17), July 19 & 26, 1 to 5pm

Nourishing the Body and Mind: A non-diet approach to health and wellness. 

This lecture will focus on how an enjoyable relationship with food can happen naturally when the focus is more on nurturing the body and mind and less on dieting.  Join us for a discussion about the cycle of dieting, and a comparison of a diet versus non-diet approach to healthy weight management.  We will discuss how we change, why we diet and offer recommendations for a satisfying relationship with food and body.
