Health at Every Size (HAES) Series

Three 8-Week Groups to Support Your Path to Body and Self Acceptance

HAES emphasizes health enhancement, size and self-acceptance, the pleasure of eating well, the joy of movement and an end to weight bias.

Using a combination of therapeutic approaches, HAES will strengthen your commitment to your health by focusing on quality of life and self-care as opposed to dieting for cosmetic reasons.

Be Nourished has designed three programs to help women let go of dieting and food/weight obsession to develop a well-adjusted relationship with food, movement and self. These three groups can be taken individually or as a series.

HAES I: Intuitive Eating

Fridays, 10:30am to noon
April 23 - June 11
$35/week

Learn to make "makes food choices without experiencing guilt or an ethical dilemma, honors hunger, respects fullness and enjoys the pleasure of eating.”

HAES II: Making Peace with Your Body

Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:30pm
April 8 - May 27
$40/week

Designed to help you understand the impact of food/weight obsession on emotional and physical health, this group includes practical tools to improve your relationship with your body.

HAES III: Moving with Pleasure

Thursdays, 6:30 to 8pm
June 17 - August 5
$35/week

This group is an invitation to explore how you might nourish your body through movement: for fitness, good self-care, and as a path to healing your relationship to your body.

Held on the first Saturday of every month, this workshop supports our Health at Every Size (HAES) ethos, a truly sustainable model of health and wellness. We hope to create a community for women who want to be part of a new conversation about health, one that nourishes and celebrates who we are and who we can become...regardless of body size, shape or age. RETREATS

Nourishing the Body and Mind:
A Weekend Retreat

April 16 to 18, 2010
Multorpor Ski Lodge
Mount Hood

By providing a relaxing environment, this weekend getaway will give the much needed nourishment that you deserve. Plan to leave feeling rejuvenated, motivated, and hopeful.

Cost of retreat: $425 for private room, $325 for a bunk (Includes two-night stay, all activities, dinner on Friday, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and some snacks.)

* The retreat will start at 6:30 pm Friday and end at noon on Sunday

Join us on the third Saturday of every month.  Learn about the nourishing aspects of cooking and sharing food with a community.  Explore different topics related to our ritual of dining.  Engage in hands-on food preparation in a relaxed environment.  Read More

Nourished Life in Recovery Support Group

This is a group for women in recovery from a substance (drugs/alcohol) who are experiencing changing bodies and eating patterns.  It can be difficult to stay sober when one is not feeling comfortable in one's own body.  This group looks at what women in recovery can do to protect their recovery experience, be comfortable in their bodies, and make meaningful decisions to live the nourished life they are sober to live.

Movement for Awareness, Acceptance, and Pleasure: A 6-week Nia Series

A small group movement series for women offered with the intention of increasing body awareness, self-acceptance and pleasure in the body you have today. Using guided imagery and gentle exercises in embodiment along with the Nia technique, we will connect to the body's natural desire to move. Read more
